BIO: Movement Nashville was constructed and implemented to assist Nashville, TN-based artists in building a fan base and raise exposure within the Nashville market by providing artists with performance, promotional and business opportunities. MN originally began in early 2006 with four exceptionally talented artists who believed the same simple truth that there is power in numbers and that supporting each other will be more beneficial than competing with one another. This theory proved true as MN began selling out shows in 150-1000+ seat venues. In the first year and a half, over half of the MN roster signed major or indie record deals. Today, MN has 17 members who were all nominated and voted in by the current members.
HOW DOES IT WORK?: Movement Nashville originally consisted of 4 artists. Every few months, the current members are asked to nominate other Nashville artists that a) are exceptionally talented, b) are hardworking and serious about their careers and c) who don't take themselves too seriously and d) who subscribe to the philosophy that helping each other is more valuable than competing against each other. Once the current members are finished nominating their favorite artists, everyone votes to determine who will be asked to join the community. If the new artists accepts, they are added to the Movement Nashville community. The current talent chooses the new talent.
HOW DO I JOIN?: The best way to garner attention from the current members of MN is to be available. Put yourselves out there. Attend performances of MN members. Introduce yourself to the artists. Work hard. Promote hard. When we begin seeking nominations from the current members, you want them to nominate you. If they don't know who you are, they will nominate someone else that is talented, hard-working and who has potential, commercially. Movement Nashville has a proven track-record of finding artists in the beginning stages, providing them good exposure through quality performance opportunities, press opportunities and introducing them to the people/companies that can help them take their careers to the next level. Over half of our roster has signed major or indie record deals after joining Movement Nashville. There are no contracts and no rules to be part of MN. You are never obligated to do anything, however, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
